Strengthening of comprehensive anti-trafficking responses in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia

The ‘Strengthening of comprehensive anti-trafficking responses in Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia’ Project seeks to address reduction of all forms of trafficking in human beings through capacity building and provision of protection and assistance to actual and potential victims.

In more specific terms, the project seeks to accomplish the following objectives:

  • to support the development the national institutional framework in the respective countries to address trafficking in persons and their practical implementation including victim-centred research, national action plan evaluation and monitoring mechanisms;

  • to support prevention of trafficking in persons and irregular migration through labour market interventions and by informing potential migrants on the risk of irregular migration and the possibilities of legal migration;

  • assist the respective Governments to detect, investigate and prosecute criminal activities pertinent to trafficking in persons;

  • improve identification, referral, protection and assistance including reintegration of victims.

The International Labour Organization, as the leading agency, implements this two-year project in close cooperation with its partners, the International Centre for Migration Policy Development, the International Organization for Migration and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
The project is financed by the European Union.
